Edibles THC dosing

Image
To complicate our understanding of edible cannabis dosage, the effects we feel afterwards are not just related to the amount of THC (and other cannabinoids) present. The experience is also largely shaped by our own personal THC tolerance. It can also be shaped by the size and weight of an individual. A larger person may feel reduced effects from the same strength edible compared to a smaller person. Your own endocannabinoid system is unique to you, so are the gastro-intestinal factors which will also affect absorption of edibles THC. What is the recommended dosage of an edible? Much depends on how easily you get stoned and how much THC you typically consume. That’s one of the main reasons why a ‘one size fits all’ cannabis edible dosage calculator is so hard to create. Average edible dosage varies quite significantly from one person to another. An experienced cannabis user with a high tolerance may feel quite happy taking a cannabis edible with 100mg or more of THC. M...

Is CBD Better Than OTC Painkillers?

Image
Is CBD better than over-the-counter medication for treating pain? The pharmaceutical industry is in upheaval as the naturally-occurring compound found in cannabis plants, cannabidiol (CBD), proves to be an excellent alternative to popular remedies. Painkilling remedies, in particular, are increasingly being replaced by CBD. Evidence is starting to show that CBD may be better than over-the-counter (OTC) pain medications. What is CBD? As mentioned before, CBD is a component of cannabis plants. These components are known as cannabinoids. But CBD does not produce the psychoactive “high” associated with its counterpart, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), another famous cannabinoid found in cannabis plants. In 2018, the U.S. passed a new Farm Bill, which delisted CBD as a Schedule 1 controlled substance. This legislation has opened up a new frontier of research into the medicinal properties of CBD. You can now legally buy CBD products from Dillon dispensaries f...

Common mistakes to avoid when choosing a strain

Image
It can be easy to go on a trusted recommendation from a friend, or an internet contact. But choosing which cannabis strain to grow next is rarely an easy choice. If you make a mistake you will spend several months regretting it and growing it. Here are a few of the pitfalls to watch out for when you are considering which strain to grow next. Blind-trusting Indica, Sativa and Hybrid classifications Not every seed is exactly the same as it is described on the suppliers website. Less scrupulous cannabis seed suppliers don’t always research their genetics well, nor do they stabilise the seeds. Some simply can’t be bothered checking and just want your money. Be careful when you read the seed description. If you really need a cannabis cup winning indica cannabis seed then it is worth doing some research on the various seed companies. Have they stood the test of time and gained the trust of fellow cannabis growers? Has the seed company got a good track record with ca...

What are some conditions CBD can potentially treat?

Image
CBD is a compound with diverse medical potential, so it’s no surprise that it’s become a trendy “cure-all” in the wellness space of late. Considering there’s currently no supervision over ingredients in CBD oil and other products, or the medical claims tied to them, it’s OK to be skeptical. We encourage that. These claims often begin with anecdotal evidence, early research, and animal studies, but human studies are finally starting to fill in the gaps around CBD’s touted benefits. With that caveat in mind, here’s what we understand about CBD’s potential therapeutic applications. CBD and anxiety Ask around and we don’t doubt you’ll find a friend, relative, or acquaintance who swears by CBD for anxiety and stress relief. And there’s no reason yet to doubt it; so far, a majority of CBD research suggests it may be beneficial for anxiety symptoms, possibly by influencing activity in the serotonin system.  For quick relief of acute stress and anxiety, co...

Smoking Moon Rocks

Image
Now, you might be wondering how to smoke moon rocks, but the fact of the matter is that it is pretty straightforward. It’s possible to roll blunts and joints of Moon Rocks, but from experience, this is not the best way to smoke them.  Use Glassware or Pipes You’re going to have the best experience smoking Moon Rocks from glass pieces; whether that’s a bong, steamroller or pipe, any of these will do. Why? Because the mixture of kief and the gooey oil concentrate, moon rocks generally have trouble staying lit without a flame heating it up. With a glass, that’s not a problem because you can continue to suck and use the carb to your advantage. And that’s it. Pretty simple, huh? Be safe, and hit that. Crumble it on top of a Bowl Think of Moon Rocks as extremely potent little hash balls that you can throw on top of any bowl. Once you light your flower, this should get the little Moon Rock pieces hot enough to ignite and melt into your bowl. Can ...

Joints vs Blunts

Image
First things first let’s go over the differences between joints and blunts. Though similar in most fundamental ways they do differ in several departments that can have a significant impact on your overall user experience. That in mind read on for a blunt versus joint comparison. Joint vs Blunts When it comes to the matter of joints versus blunts there are several things that you need to keep in mind. For one thing, joints tend to be smaller in size than blunts. The comparison is a little like that of a cigarette to a small cigar. Blunts also tend to be substantially harsher than joints. This is because they are wrapped in tobacco leaves. As a result, blunts will probably make you cough more if you are not well acquainted with them. However, blunts do have the upper-hand where discretion is needed. If you want to avoid smelling like marijuana you may benefit from the less straightforward smell profile of the blunt. Because the smoke is tweaked with a hi...

Why should senior citizens try CBD as a medicine?

Image
Senior citizens are often the victim of elevating pain and discomfort from multiple ailments such as arthritis. They also face the challenges that the rising drug costs for prescription drugs bring with themselves. Also, senior citizens have trouble regulating their sleep and appetite. Even if there are no serious medical conditions such as arthritis and dementia, the human body will naturally age and there will always be a threat of serious health conditions. And more often than not, the elderly will be afflicted by them. What is the good news here? The good news is that CBD oil can help alleviate all of the problems mentioned above and then some. Multiple studies show that CBD has properties that can relieve some of the symptoms of aging while providing comfort for those in the senior age. The hesitation Though CBD’s use as natural medicine is on the rise, there is a percentage of the population that is inhibitive to use the compound. This could be attributed to the...

How to make CBD Tinctures?

Image
CBD Tinctures are made by soaking a high-CBD source plant into high-proof grain alcohol through the process of steeping. In the case of tinctures, high-proof food-grade alcohol is going to be your best friend. The best quality CBD tinctures are available in the medical marijuana dispensaries in Colorado Springs. Choice of Solvents Alcohol Traditionally, tinctures are made with alcohol. The use of alcohol as the solvent results in a potent CBD extract that absorbs highly quickly in the body when taken sublingually. For people who have a sensitivity to alcohol or want to steer clear of it in all possible manners, there are non-alcoholic solvents as well. Glycerine Vegetable glycerine is a clear liquid from soy, palm, and/or coconuts. Its lipid structure makes it a great solvent for tinctures. However, glycerine-based tinctures are less potent than alcohol-based tinctures as glycerine is not as effective as alcohol in bonding with cannabis compounds. Vegetable Oil Using v...

Low CBD Doses Help Half Seizure Rate in Children, Study Finds

Image
